Development and Communications Manager
Description:
IS183 Art School of the Berkshires seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with professional marketing and fundraising experience to join our small team in the new position of Development and Communications Manager. The Development and Communications Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to support IS183’s mission to encourage people of all ages, means, and skill levels to enrich their lives through hands-on experience in the visual arts. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in all facets of our programs and a sincere willingness to collaborate with staff and board members on a range of projects. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature and a passion for the visual arts.

Key Responsibilities

Information Management:

Process, track and acknowledge all donations, pledges, planned gifts and bequests, gifts in kind, and other information related to donor cultivation and special events.

Maintain and manage donor database, providing accurate and current data on all prospects, donors and other constituents.

Update and maintain development calendar and work plan; provide support for departments’ goals, events and initiatives

Understands the structure and workings of the organization and each departments marketing needs

Event Management:

Assist in planning and executing large special events including event logistics, invitation development and tracking, and coordinating

Coordinates and staffs all marketing events; seasonal festivals and fairs

External Communications:

Research grant/foundation sources and produce initial draft of applications.

Assist in preparation of Annual Campaign and other fundraising materials and communications.

Maintains all social media accounts; Facebook & Instagram.

Maintains website with webmaster and is responsible for keeping information up to date and current.

Organizes and oversees design, printing, and distribution of print materials.

Administrative:

Oversees the Marketing budget

Oversees all advertising; both ad sales and submissions

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, minimum of three years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office, and/or a combination of both.

Strong database management skills including data entry, query building, and reports--and experience using development software (Bloomerang, Network For Good, Abila, or similar development software).

Strong attention to detail and appreciation of the importance of accurate, usable data.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve.

Must have the ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to anticipate next steps.

Excellent written and verbal skills required including customer service skills.

Ability to converse with a wide variety of constituents in a professional manner and work collegially with all levels and departments within the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

This position requires working occasional night, evenings, and weekends.

Ability to navigate stairs and lift up to 35 pounds in course of day-to-day business.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation that can be used during the work day.
