Tuition Assistance & Work Exchange

Our Needs-Based Scholarship Program allows children and adults to enroll in classes, workshops, after-school and camps regardless of financial means. Last year, IS183 awarded over $10,000 of tuition assistance to students from across the region. Funds are limited, so students are encouraged to apply early. Applications must be received at least two weeks prior to the start date of class in order to be considered.

All award recipients (or parents of recipients) are expected to join the community of the art school through participation in our work exchange program. Your help can be used with studio maintenance, flyer/catalog distribution, office support, publicity, and much more! For more information please call the office: 413.298.5252 x100.

To apply, please complete the Application for Tuition Assistance and Work Exchange Application, providing as much information as possible regarding your financial status (including a copy of the first page of your most recent tax return) and any special circumstances that inspire your request for assistance at this time. To request an application please email our Registrar/Office Manager, Peter Long, at

Please note: your completed application must be received at least two weeks before the beginning of the course for which you are applying.
