Finding Our Place

This week we’ll take a more traditional approach to drawing and painting from life both in the studio and out in the field. Reflecting on the artifacts left to us throughout history by artists, we will explore the processes, techniques, and subjects of visual artists not only in the past, but contemporary visual artists as well. Research in-hand we’ll practice risk-taking and self-discovery, choosing a strategy/medium that best assists in making our own unique drawings and paintings. We will balance 2-dimensional intensity with a totally different tactile experience as we create in clay and raku fire with our visiting artist!
