The Art of Survival

We need art to survive, or at least the skills to craft tools and useful things! During this week-long intensive you will explore the world of traditional craft and outdoor survival skills through the creation of objects both practical and aesthetically cool. We will create birch-bark vessels sewn with cedar root, craft harvesting packs with willow, carve utensils from branches (as we learn safe tool manipulation), raku fire our sculpted earthenware clay, and build tripod stands to use as shelters or fire covers. Welcome to the wilderness!
