Glaze Development

Over the first 2 meetings, we will create our own glazes and see how they transform during the firing process. After learning about glaze components, we will develop our own series from raw materials and apply them on test pieces. These test tiles will be fired and then evaluated during our final meeting with a focus on chemistry dynamics, quality, and creative control. All types of ceramic students welcome; we will learn from each other and experiment at individualized levels. Note: class fees include Jeff Zamek’s book What Every Potter Should Know.
