Introduction to Handbuilding

Learn the basics of how to handle clay to make vases, tableware, boxes, and more. Projects will be designed to cover various handbuilding techniques such as pinch, coil and slab construction. Students will gain an understanding of the stages that a clay piece goes through to become a finished pot with emphasis on the process of surface decoration and glazing. Our inspiration will come from a variety of visual sources, creative exercises, and weekly demonstrations. Ideal for those newer to ceramics but all levels will receive one-on-one guidance! Includes access to open studio time for duration of class. Take 10% off this class if you finalize your registration 3 or more weeks before the start date.
