Block Printing on Fabric

Discover one of the oldest forms of printmaking as we carve designs and make prints on various materials! We will begin by brainstorming designs and source materials and playing with sketching and composing pattern ideas. After learning to transfer and carve these designs into unique blocks, we will then experiment with simple repeated prints on paper before moving on to printing on fabric. Each student will be provided with fabric remnants and a cotton tea towel for their block printing, and are encouraged to bring other cotton fabrics to experiment on. Finished prints can be transformed into pillows, chair covers, wall displays and more! No experience with drawing or printmaking necessary- students will work at their own pace and with ample one-on-one feedback. Take 10% off this class if you finalize your registration 3 or more weeks before the start date.
