Monotype Printmaking

This series will focus on monotype, the most painterly of printmaking processes. Using a small Charles Brand press, we’ll explore a range of techniques to create textures, layers and spontaneous imagery within our prints. Working on Plexi “plates,” we’ll begin by using stencils, brushes, and tools, and go a bit deeper, rounding out our experimentation with drypoint (using a sharp tool to “draw” on the plate) and Chine-colle (transferring images onto your print by bonding one paper layer to another). All levels welcome to this fun, exploratory class!
