Textile Sampler: Dye, Felt, Weave

Curious about creating with textiles? In this sampler class, we will explore three different textile processes—dyeing, weaving, and felting. With two weeks devoted to each process, and each class building on the week before, students will go from dyeing fabric and yarn with the natural dye primaries—indigo, madder and osage—to weaving on frame looms and wet-felting both flat and 3D forms. No experience expected as there will be technical demos each week, with a focus on experimentation, and accessible ways to work with processes at home.
