Beginning Painting

Join a friendly, supportive studio environment to paint from still life set-ups and photographs. In working towards art making that pleases us, we will try out a number of different approaches to how to begin a painting. Color mixing will be investigated and emphasized. The goal will be for you to find a way of painting that feels your own, that gives you confidence, and that shows you a way forward. Make art without the pressure of needing to make a masterpiece- just look for a path. We will rely on one another for positive encouragement and ideas. Everyone will receive individual attention, and relevant references to art history and contemporary art will be made. All levels welcome.
