Landscape Painting from the Studio

Inspired by the beauty of nature, yet in the comfort of the studio, we will work on painting using your own landscape imagery as reference. Through demonstrations and paint sketches, we will analyze how masterworks are constructed. You will learn how to create strong compositions by finding the elemental shapes and color relationships in the landscape. Starting with small sketches as practice, we will work toward a slightly larger, more developed piece. Acrylic paint is strongly suggested, but students can use the paint medium with which they are most comfortable, including oil or watercolor. This will be a supportive environment for students at any level. Take 10% off this class if you finalize your registration 3 or more weeks before the start date.
