Painting: A Sampler

Curious about painting? In this sampler course you will be introduced to the range of the medium and begin to explore the qualities and technique of different approaches. We will start with pastels, an ideal transition between drawing and paint, and then work with watercolor, acrylic and finally oil. We will go over fundamentals and create a project in response to exercises that develop our sense of observation and our understanding of the tools we are using. This is an ideal course for the curious beginner who is wondering which medium might be a good fit. Individual support will be given at each step, and no experience in any artmaking is expected. All materials are included in fee.
