Puppetry Workshop

Ever wonder how those puppets you see on television and in movies are made? In this class you’ll learn the secrets to building your own foam patterned hand puppet and all the materials, elements, and skills that go into making them look so real and lifelike. We will also learn fundamentals to creating a character through the use of color, texture, different materials, and movement, as well as how to manipulate your puppet to bring your character to life. These puppets are sewn and covered in fleece using the “Henson” stitch. No previous puppetry skills needed—just your imagination and creativity. If you took this camp last year, only the base of your puppet will be the same. Early Drop-Off and Late Pick-Up are available to extend the day from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. $35/week for either morning or afternoon, $65/week for both.
