Your Comic Strip Life (ages 8-14)

This week, we’ll create graphic art based on your life, from memories to everyday activity, and with lots of room for imagining the future you. In the mornings our artmaking will get us playing in 2D and 3D with the power of color, dynamic compositions, and the use of text and geometric shapes. In the afternoons we will focus on comics, starting with quick one-panel exercises and moving to building a complete visual story. We’ll look at many artists & graphic storytellers, from Roy Lichtenstein to Betsy Bird, to discuss various approaches. Come ready to create stories, learn new skills, and share many laughs!!
