School Residencies

In addition to extensive after-school and summer programming IS183 also offers in-school residencies which enrich the classroom while providing professional development and new perspective for classroom teachers.

In residence, IS183 faculty artists provide valuable hands-on training in new modalities to pre-K–12 grade educators, working side-by-side in the classroom to increase student engagement through art making in new media, while reinforcing the Massachusetts Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks.

In Winter 2016, IS183 brought a new kind of program to the residents of Kimball Assisted Living in Lenox. Responding to their desire for an imaginative, creative approach to a topic of interest, in this case architecture, IS183 delivered a rich curriculum that allowed for an educated exploration of concepts and media.
