In the summer of 1991, IS183 opened its doors in what continues to be its historic landmark home, Citizens Hall. Some 50 community members signed up for art classes that first year. Seventeen years later, in 2008, IS183 welcomed over 2,500 children, teens and adults to its studios, lectures and events.
The reality is that tuition
covers less than 60% of our annual budget. The rest must come from
community members, like you, who value the role IS183 plays every
day in enriching our lives. You can be sure that when you give to IS183 Art School, IS183 gives right back to the community. Your contributions allow us to grant up to $15,000 per year in scholarships to over 250 classes, workshops, intensives and art camps. We offer after-school programs in area elementary schools and we continue to offer free programs for families and art appreciators. If you haven’t already, please donate to IS183 Art School today.
