We need your help to continue to bring the enriching impact of art education to students of all ages, means, and skill levels to the Berkshires!
As an artist, having a dedicated space to create — to unplug, buckle down, and focus — is a gift. IS183 Art School's studios are the only dedicated space in the Berkshires to create visual art, and our home in the historic Citizens' Hall Building, built in 1870, has enabled us to offer hands-on visual arts programming with professional faculty artists since 1991.
In order to continue to provide high quality studio classes, programming, and support to artists, our National Landmark building is in need of renovations and new equipment that hasn’t been replaced in over 25 years.
We are honored to have received a matching grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to embark on a Systems Replacement Plan — providing an analysis our building’s exterior, interior, and equipment and offering a comprehensive outline of repairs and replacements for the next 20 years. We need your support to match MCC's grant of $7,000 to complete this work!
With only $4,000 left to raise, please support IS183 and be part of the next 20 years of providing a studio art community in Berkshire County!
"The studio is where strange magic happens, as much for the artist’s imagination as for the public’s. It’s the conjuring place of new concepts, styles, or forms. Sometimes it even comes to be seen as sacred, a place where visitors become pilgrims to the altar of art."
